Approach

Life continually presents us with challenges and, at times, everyone feels overwhelmed, stuck, or afraid. I approach my work with a blend of curiosity, knowledge, compassion, and humor that allows you to explore those issues that continue to cause difficulty in your life. I can assist you in learning from and coping with what may feel unbearable to you.

I offer short-term as well as long-term therapy in a supportive environment treating adults and couples. My psychodynamic training coupled with relational and family systems theories enable me to fully appreciate the profound impact of past experiences and how they can affect our current thoughts and behaviors. My style could be described as interactive, direct, reflective and pragmatic. Within this framework, I am able to blend a mix of conventional and creative therapies to assist individuals and couples in finding resolution to a wide range of life challenges.

As a therapist with almost 30 years of experience, my clinical expertise is founded upon academic and post-graduate training, life experiences, and working with a diverse range of clients facing overwhelming emotional pain, and difficult life transitions. I received my Masters in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work and have worked for both public and private agencies, corporate enterprises, and in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization programs, employee assistance programs, and private practice.
